The Maple Leaf One - 50x50cm

Warm, colourful, and distinctly Canadian, The Maple Leaf One began with a simple idea: to create something inspired by autumn colours and the familiar beauty of the maple leaf.

This hand-drawn design started with one large maple leaf, followed by smaller leaves, little hearts tucked within the main leaf, and layers of colour and detail built inside each shape. The result is a scarf that feels rooted in warmth, nature, belonging, and connection.

This piece was created using a light box and stencils for the leaf outlines, then developed by hand with pencils, black pens in different nib sizes, and coloured pencils. It was also the first design where I documented the creative process and shared a video showing how the artwork transformed from drawing to scarf.

What makes The Maple Leaf One especially meaningful is that it was planned as a scarf from the very beginning. I was not only creating artwork on paper. I was creating something that would eventually be worn.

Professionally printed on soft polyester chiffon satin, this scarf has a flowing, silk-like feel and works beautifully as a square neck scarf, hair scarf, bag accessory, or meaningful gift.
